Vienna University of Economics hits Top 10 of Financial Times Ranking for the first time

Largest Austrian business university achieves its best result ever in the renowned ranking for its “Master in International Management” programme

The Austrian University of Economics in Vienna (WU Wien) makes the great 8th place in the latest ranking of the Top European Master programmes in “International Management”. Well-known Financial Times published the 2016 ranking on 11 September. Finishing within the Top 10 for the very first time, the WU outpaced other prestigious business schools like for example the Università Bocconi in Milan. Totally, 90 business schools were ranked, with Swiss University of St. Gallen defending its peak position from 2015 and making the top of the list again. The University of Economics in Vienna improved from the 13th rank in 2015. International experience and excellent career prospects are the main assets of the Viennese business school according to Financial Times. Rector Edeltraud Hanappi-Egger expressed her delight with the result and said it would be a sensational success for the University of Economics. She also stated that the WU represents Austria in a positive way, showing that also minor universities can achieve excellent results in international rankings.
