Outstanding success for Austria at the WSA Wine Challenge Austrian Winemakers scoop up 21 medals
This success highlighted again the growing importance of Austrian wines on the highly competitve Singaporean and Southeast Asian winemarkets. 9 Austrian winemakers were awarded 1 x gold, 5 x silver and 15 x bronze!
The 4th edition of the Wine Challenge was organised on the occasion of this year's Food & Hotel Asia.
The panel of judges was made up of key wine influencers & decision makers from airlines, reputable hotel chains, supermarket retailing chains and distributors of food & drinks, representing accurate characteristics of the Asian palate.
One gold medal was awarded to Weingut Elfenhof for their sweet wine "Ruster Ausbruch Kristall".
Weingut R&A Pfaffl, Weingut Esterházy and Weingut Ewald Gruber won one silver and bronze medal each.
Bioweing Johannes Zillinger snatched up 1 silver and 5 bronze, Skoff Winetrading 1 silver and 3 bronze, Schloss Gobelsburg 2 bronze and Bert Gmeiner Leithaberg and Erzherzog Johann Weine 1 bronze each.
All winning wines were featured in a special showcase at the Food & Hotel Asia and were available for tasting.
