“Alles Walzer” in Chicago – Everyone dances the waltz ...… February 19, 2008

The Austrian business community and its friends were very well represented at the “American Friends of Austria” Viennese Ball 2008 in Chicago.

The beautifully decorated Gold Coast Hall in the Drake Hotel, a gourmet dinner, the “Tony Kawalkowski String Orchestra” and strolling violinists inspired more than 200 guests to waltz away the evening of February 15. Spotted at the dance were Consul General Robert Zischg, Michael Milosits and Elisabeth Freudensprung (all of the Austrian Consulate General), Eva and Alfons Lüftenegger (RHI), Margarete and Alfred Schranz  (Schenker) , Anja Gribhofer-Decker (Constantia Flexibles), Thomas MacDonald (Böhler Uddeholm), Dolores Simon (Chicagoland Chamber of Commerce), Bill Strauss  (Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago), Tom Soseman (Thiedmann & Edler) and Franz Roessler, Maja Seferovic and Barbara Havel from the Austrian Trade Commission. 

Sabine and Werner Kollment (Miba) were the lucky first prize winners of the raffle and will fly business class on the Austrian non-stop connection from Chicago to Vienna. 

Thanks to Loretta Fleischmann and Trudy Nika from the American Friends of Austria for bringing this cultural treasure from Vienna to Chicago.
