Experts from the healthcare and athletics fields discuss the impact of plastics in their respective line of work

On May 12, 2009 industry experts gathered for the 4th time since 2003 to exchange ideas and discuss trends and latest industry developments.

Topics at the 4th Austrian Plastics Day held in Vienna included the impact of plastics in professional and popular sports as well as sports for the physically challenged. Stages of development in polymeric surfaces for skis and snowboards as well as the importance of sustainability in this area were also highlighted. A separate focus on plastics in orthopedics and prosthetics completed the program.

The Austrian plastics industry employs 65,000 workers in 740 companies generating annual shipments of USD 17.5 billion. With an export quota of 74% the Austrian plastics industry is very internationally oriented.
