AUSTRIAN WINE Makes Donation to Chicago Charity
Proceeds from Wine Tasting benefit Common Threads
On Tuesday, July 17, Austrian Trade Commissioner Franz Roessler together with Austrian Consul General Thomas Schnoell had the pleasure of presenting local Chicago charity Common Threads with a check in the amount of USD 4,000. This generous donation was made by the Austrian Wine Marketing Board , AUSTRIAN WINE, in Vienna and represented some of the proceeds of the fabulously successful wine tasting “Austria Uncorked,” which was held April 19 and sponsored by AUSTRIAN WINE. Austrian wines are becoming increasingly popular in the U.S., particularly the refreshing Grüner Veltliner, followed by the delicious red, Zweigelt. Common Threads’ mission is to educate low-income children on the importance of nutrition and physical well-being, and to foster an appreciation of cultural diversity through cooking.
