Alpla expanding in the U.S.

Alpla in Jefferson City, MO receives Austrian visitors

Austrian Alpla Werke Lehner GmbH & Co. KG , a European powerhouse in rigid packaging, continues to set up U.S. blow molding plants close to customers.

Austrian Consul General Thomas Schnöll, Trade Commissioner Franz Roessler and Honorary Consul General in Missouri Dietmar Ungerböck paid a visit to Alpla’s plant in Jefferson City, MO. The central Missouri site has been supplying bottles to a nearby Unilever plant since 2003 and employs some 70 people. Plant manager Bob Volmert and production manager Bryon Davis welcomed the Austrian visitors.

Alpla’s U.S. operations have expanded since setting up the first office in 2001 in Atlanta, GA. Alpla operates a dozen plants in the U.S. already. Proximity to customers, a high level of automation and specialized custom-designed technologies are keys to Alpla’s success in the U.S. market. Alpla worldwide with its head office in Hard, Austria, has 134 subsidiaries in 37 countries employing altogether some 12,000 people.
