Global Market Leaders among Member Companies

Created in March 2010, the platform emphasizes the role and possibilities of wood-plastic composites and focuses on R&D, technology development, efficiency, PR, etc. which should lead to new, innovative projects and products. The goal is to strengthen Austria’s position as a business location and place it internationally as a “WPC competence center”. With an annual growth rate of 25%, WPC is one of the most rapidly developing sectors within the European plastic industry.

The platform was established by the “Kunststoff-Cluster” (Austrian Plastics Cluster) in Upper and Lower Austria, the Plastics Technology Transfer Center in Wels and Cincinnati Extrusion in Vienna. The 16 Austrian companies currently participating in and funding this platform range from producers of raw material and wood to producers of tools, engineers and processors (extrusion and injection molding) as well as scientific institutes.

In April 2010, the platform officially premiered at the 7th Wood-Plastic Composites 2010 conference in Vienna.

Companies interested in joining the WPC platform should contact Ms. Monika Daucher (E-mail: monika.daucher@clusterland.at ) at the Austrian Plastics Cluster.
