Center Austria and World Trade Center on Trade Commissioner's Agenda

The Austrian Trade Commissioner in Chicago recently travelled to New Orleans for two business-packed days. After visiting the WEFTEC trade show, the largest water quality event in North America where the ATC Chicago staffed an information booth, Trade Commissioner Roessler met with Mr. Dominik Knoll, newly-appointed CEO of the World Trade Center of New Orleans to discuss future projects.

A highlight of the trip was a presentation by the Trade Commissioner to the Center Austria: Center for Austrian Culture & Commerce entitled “Austrian – U.S. Business Relations and an Introduction to the Austrian Trade Commissions in the United States.” With the support of the Center and its Director, Dr. Guenter Bischof, around 50 Austrian students currently study at the University of New Orleans.

Founded in the fall of 1997, The Center for Austrian Culture and Commerce (Center Austria) at the University of New Orleans enlarges upon more than three decades of cooperation with the University of Innsbruck and a Sister City Agreement between the Cities of Innsbruck and New Orleans. Center Austria builds upon the involvement and advice from leaders in business and government at local, regional, and national levels in Austria and in America.
