Austria at PACK EXPO International 2016

7 Austrian companies among more than 2,500 exhibitors at the world’s largest packaging and processing trade show

This year’s PACK EXPO International opened its doors between November 6 and 9 at McCormick Place to more than 50,000 packaging and processing professionals from around the world seeking new technologies and insights on the over 1.25 million net square feet exhibit space and at more than 100 educational sessions. 

The numerous exhibitors representing over 40 different vertical markets showcased their products and services in four industry-specific pavilions called “The Containers & Materials Pavilion,” “The Confectionery Pavilion,” “The Processing Zone,” and “The Reusable Packaging Pavilion.” 

Seven individual Austrian exhibitors were present at the show: 

  • B&R Industrial Automation - One of the largest international private automation companies in the world. Offers a complete range of products based on international industrial standards.
  • Constantia Flexibles  - A leading group of flexible packaging and label manufacturers. Providing solutions to customers worldwide in the food, pet food, beverage, and pharmaceutical industries.
  • Greiner Packaging  - Among Europe’s leading plastic packaging manufacturers. Offers a wide range of rigid plastic packaging for the food (e.g. dairy, confectionery, dessert, etc.) and non-food markets.
  • KEBA – For more than 45 years, KEBA has developed and manufactured innovative automation solutions
    for a variety of industries, including packaging.
  • Pirlo – A specialist in metal packaging made of tinplate and aluminum. Offers the largest product range of round cans throughout Europe. Also offers digitally printable laminate tubes.
  • Starlinger – A Vienna-based engineering company and one of the world’s leading suppliers of machinery and complete lines for woven plastic bag production and PET recycling and refinement.
  • Teufelberger  – A dynamic group of companies working with three key technologies in three strategic divisions – namely extrusion (plastic strapping and baler twines), steel wire ropes, and synthetic fibers.
  

PACK EXPO International 2016 focused on dealing with today’s major business challenges for companies in the industry, including: 

  • Constantly changing consumer demands
  • The pressure to do more with less
  • Difficulties attracting and retaining workforce talent
  • Keeping pace with exponential advances in technology and connectivity
  • Supporting sustainability throughout the supply chain
 

The next smaller-scale PACK EXPO, PACK EXPO East 2017, will take place February 27 – March 1, 2017 in the Pennsylvania Convention Center in Philadelphia. The largest packaging show in 2017, PACK EXPO Las Vegas, is scheduled to be held between September 25 and September 27 at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
