Austrian company Rosenbauer successful with the Fire truck “commander”
The last two years, Rosenbauer Motors in Minnesota developed and build the Commander. They unveiled its new custom chassis at the FDIC, the largest fire industry fair in the USA.
To date, Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting Service Vehicles (ARFFs) were the only vehicles to be built on Rosenbauer chassis. However, since the beginning of 2012, municipal fire service vehicles in the USA can also be produced independently. For with the Commander, Rosenbauer possesses a chassis that can be offered with two differing axle designs and engines of up to 600hp for vehicles with gross weights of 14-36t.
The Commander passed all the tests prescribed by the NFPA (National Fire Prevention Agency). In combination with Green Star technology, the Commander also meets the EPA 2010 environmental protection standard. The first vehicles to be delivered to customers have gone to the Sioux Center, SD and Oakdale, MN fire services.
Rosenbauer is leading manufacturer of fire fighting vehicles.
