Students Josef Dunst and Christian Picherler named finalists in Intel International Science and Engineering Fair

In May, 2011 the Austrian students from the Higher Technical Institute (HTL) Mödling, Engineering Division in the province of Lower Austria became finalists in the Intel International Science and Engineering Fair held in Los Angeles. Over 7 million students applied and $4 million was awarded in prize money. The global competition could be considered as having the stature of the Nobel Prize for youth in the field of science and technology.

Messrs. Dunst and Picherler became finalists based on their invention of a mounting bracket for hydraulic attachments (such as mobile cranes) which allows for quick coupling and uncoupling in a matter of minutes, rather than hours. More information can be found in German on this website .
