Kapsch TrafficCom produces electronic toll collection systems for multi-lane free-flow traffic

In the future, Austrian toll specialist Kapsch TrafficCom will be responsible for the software needed to collect tolls on the famous Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco. The “Golden Gate Bridge, Highway and Transportation District" contracted Kapsch TrafficCom to maintain and develop the toll lane software. This is a “strategic project,” said a Kapsch spokesperson. In 2012 a total of 38 million cars crossed the Golden Gate Bridge, the main landmark of San Francisco.

“The efficient maintenance of the toll collection software is essential to the District’s ability to provide the transportation services that our customers rely on”, said Denis J. Mulligan, District General Manager. “Kapsch has the tolling experience required for operating the toll system on the Golden Gate Bridge“.
