Focus on Growing Market through Direct Service and Diversification

The wire and cable industry has been affected by the downturn in the automotive sector, a major market segment.  How does an industry survive such a severe setback?  Through excellent service, diversification and vertical integration.

According to Mike Kos, Managing Director of Rosendahl Nextrom , the US subsidiary of Austrian wire and cable machinery manufacturer Rosendahl Maschinen GmbH ,  “We emphasize local service for parts and service engineering.  This includes the automotive sector, as well as traditionally stable industries such as data communications and power generation.   We’re also getting deeper into the metal forming and welding industries. In addition, we’ve set up our own production of extrusion crossheads, which we previously got from a supplier.”

Rosendahl has also continued its marketing efforts.   Although there was a significant drop in overall attendence at this year’s key Interwire 2009 show, the higher concentration of industry decision makers led to a satisfactory volume of truly qualified leads.

Rosendahl´s US subsidiary has a realistic view which is rooted in the past and continues to grow into the future, as reflected by Kos: “Economic changes may disrupt, but they have also spurned growth in both our product portfolio and bottom line. We’ll keep our eye on the changing marketplace as we continue to focus on providing solutions to our customers.”
