Getzner’s elastic mounting systems provide protection against excessive vibrations and noise

Noise and vibration were among the engineering hurdles the entire team faced when designing the complex since it is standing over an Amtrak tunnel on the building’s east side. Due to its close proximity to the rail tracks, developers and residents alike were very concerned about rail-generated vibrations. Getzner is not only a developer and manufacturer of materials for vibration mitigation and isolation, but also a construction engineering consultant.

Getzner Werkstoffe GmbH is specialized in the production of polyurethane elastomers. These are technical elastomers marketed worldwide under the tradenames Sylomer® and Sylodyn®. They are intended for use wherever the need arises to prevent jarring, vibration and noise.

In cellular and solid form, Sylomer® and Sylodyn® find many applications:

  • in railway track construction: rail pads, baseplate pads, ballast mats, sleeper pads, mass-spring-systems etc.
  • in building construction: building supports, insulation of floor slabs, footstep sound insulation etc.
  • in industry: elastic bearings for all machinery (chillers, A/C, pumps etc.), parts for machines and equipment accurately made to customer´s specifications
