AUSTRIA with a record presence at the Bio International Convention

.At the BIO 2010 show in Chicago, Austria boasted 23 exhibitors, the largest number of exhibitors the Austrian biotechnology scene has had to date. Dr. Petra Bohuslav, Lower Austrian Minister for Economy, Tourism, Technology and Sports and her official delegation also visited the show. With over 1,700 exhibitors, the BIO International Convention is the largest global event for the biotechnology industry.

Austria’s biotech scene speaks to young high flyers as well as established global players. The Austrian presence at BIO again showed the innovation present in the country’s biotechnology firms, ranging from the production of peptides and biopharmaceuticals to vaccines and phytocosmetics. Top clean room technologies, nanotoxology research and the world’s largest biobank were also presented. A particular highlight of the show was the networking hospitality reception hosted at the Austrian pavilion.
