Three Austrian companies exhibit their products at the world’s largest housewares show

The International Home and Housewares Show 2014 was held March 15th – 18th at Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center. With more than 2,100 exhibitors and over 60,000 attendees, the International Home and Housewares Show is the largest housewares-only fair in the world. Attendees were able to experience trends and innovations in the four areas “clean, contain + sustain,” “dine + design,” “discover design” and “wired + well.”

A current trend in the industry is to glean an educated perspective on the lives of customers and not only differentiate them by common segmentation areas like age or income. That way it is easier for producers to evaluate the needs of the different customer groups. Furthermore, it is becoming increasingly necessary for suppliers to adapt their product range and services to the growth in e-commerce, an increasing emphasis on health and the growing ethnic diversity of customers.

Among the 2,100 exhibitors, three Austrian companies presented their products to the world’s largest audience of home goods and housewares professionals. Riedel Glas , well-known for their high quality glass creations, attended the show as well as ISI Group Inc with its siphons for culinary uses like making soda water and whipped cream, and Vulkanus , presenting innovative knife sharpeners.

After some years of recession, the exhibitors and the show’s attendees seemed to be optimistic and very satisfied with the outcome of the show. The next International Home and Housewares Show is scheduled for March 7th - 10th, 2015, again at Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center.
