Austrian firms exhibit leading offerings at key US laboratory technology and instrumentation conference

PITTCON Conference and Expo 2011 , the world's largest annual conference and exposition for laboratory science held in Atlanta in mid-March, drew over 950 exhibitors and almost 15,000 visitors to exchange innovative ideas with scientists from around the world. Four Austrian companies exhibited:

Through its US subsidiary in Ashland, VA, Anton Paar GmbH showcased its product highlights in analytical and laboratory instruments, including their DMA 500 Density Meter, Abbemat Refractometer Series and the MCP 200 Polarimeter. Anton Paar is represented through subsidiaries and distributors in over 80 countries worldwide.

Located in Vienna, Grabner Instruments is a world leader in automatic measurement technology related to quality control in oil and gas processing. Grabner participated at PITTCON throught its sister firm Ametek Oil and Gas Petrolab. Both firms are part of the US firm AMETEK, Inc.

Ionicon Analytik GmbH is the world's leading PTR-MS (Proton Transfer Reaction - Mass Spectrometry) company. Located in Innsbruck with a network of 10 global distributors, the company presented their solutions for online VOC monitoring and real-time trace gas detection.

As a leading global firm in precious and specialty metals and services, the Austrian Firm Ögussa GmbH exhibited at PITTCON through its US distributor Basiq, which is part of the European Umicore Group. Ögussa presented its platinum lab equipment and services in laboratory precious metals recovery.

Next year´s PITTCON Show in Orlando, Florida will be held March 11-16, 2012 and will continue to draw a wide audience in laboratory equipment and services used in industries from food and beverage to power generation.  Austrian expertise will continue to play a significant role in the industry.
