Four Austrian companies present their products

This year’s International Home and Housewares Show was held March 6th – 8th at Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center. With more than 2,000 exhibitors and over 21,000 attendees, the International Home and Housewares Show is the most comprehensive convention in the industry. Attendees were able to experience the innovations and trends offered in furnishings, cookware, kitchen gadgets, packaging, bath accessories and more.

The products exhibited were categorized in four areas: “Dine + Design”, “Clean + Contain”, “Wired + Well” and “Global Crossroads Expo”. The products in these show-within-a-show expos ranged from cooking pots to massage chairs to everything that can possibly be needed in a household.

2011 looks to be the year of solution-oriented housewares, bright colors and innovative children’s cooking materials. For example, a dinner set for children crafted of an unbreakable material was introduced. Furthermore, toasters and coffee machines in a myriad of colors were displayed.

Among the 2,000 exhibitors, four Austrian companies presented their products to the world’s largest audience of home goods and housewares professionals. Riedel Glas , well-known for their high quality glass creations, attended the show as well as ISI Group Inc., Casa Si GmbH and EGG-O GmbH , the latter presenting an innovative egg-shaped wine cooler.

After some years of recession, the mood among the exhibitors and the show’s attendees seemed to finally be on the upswing. A generally positive atmosphere could be perceived among those at the show. The next International Home and Housewares Show is scheduled for March 11th- 13th, 2012, again at Chicago’s McCormick Place Convention Center.
