Facility in St. Florian set for strong growth in Austria and surrounding region

The US multinational, industrial supplier and S&P 500 firm Parker Hannifin recently opened a branch in St. Florian in the province of Upper Austria. Parker´s third location in Austria with 132 employees, the new facility offers products such as pneumatic and hydraulic fittings for mechanical engineering applications and supplies approximately 350 OEM industrial customers as well as an independent distributor network.

"We are going where the market is the most interesting for us and that´s Upper Austria," says Roland Bittenauer, Managing Director of Austria Parker, which consists of the sister companies Parker Hannifin and Parker Origa. "Parker experienced an upswing this spring in our key engineering and construction machinery sectors, which started last fall in other sectors," says Bittenauer. “Our strength is in serving our local customers with a small, on-hands, competitive presence,” which is why Bittenauer calculates good future opportunities for his company. He expects sales from Austria to increase by 12% this year. In addition, 17 Eastern European countries were added to Parker Austria´s territory in July, 2010, so overall revenue is expected to increase by 50 percent and reach 50 million Euros this year.

With headquarters in Cleveland OH, Parker Hannifin Corp. currently employs 52,000 people in 54 countries. As a group, it is divided into eight business areas including automation, HVAC, hydraulic, and aerospace. Parker produces compressed air valves and cylinders, hydraulic parts, pneumatic valves and is the market leader in drive and control technology.
