Austrian-headquartered RIEGL Laser Measurement Systems has developed the world’s first survey-grade UAS LiDAR sensor, the VUX-1. The RIEGL VUX-1 is a lightweight and compact laser scanner, meeting the challenges of emerging survey solutions by unmanned aerial systems (UAS), gyrocopters and ultra-light aircraft, both in measurement performance and in system integration. Scanner applications include, but are not limited to: agriculture and forestry, defense, wide area mapping, flood zone mapping, glacier and snowfield mapping, topography and mining, and the academic markets.

RIEGL stands for innovations in 3D. The company has more than 30 years of experience in the research, development and production of laser rangefinders, distance meters and scanners. Laser Measurement Systems is headquartered in Horn, Austria and has offices around the world including in the U.S.
