TEUFELBERGER Name Change Reflects Growing US Presence

U.S. production and sales in Massachusetts is now TEUFELBERGER Fiber Rope Corp.

In April 2014, the Austrian-based TEUFELBERGER Group announced that its production and sales facility in Fall River, MA became “TEUFELBERGER Fiber Rope Corp.” Formerly “New England Ropes Corp.,” the plant in Fall River has been a part of the TEUFELBERGER Group since June 2007. TEUFELBERGER Fiber Rope Corp. manufactures yachting ropes, fiber ropes for use in arboriculture, mountaineering and sport climbing, for technical applications, and safety ropes. By acquiring the plant in Fall River, TEUFELBERGER became global market leader in the yachting cordage sector. The U.S. subsidiary will maintain the established New England Ropes and MAXIM brands.

The name TEUFELBERGER stands for a dynamic, international group of companies with over 220 years of experience. TEUFELBERGER produces steel wire ropes for ropeways and cranes and is also active in the extrusion of plastic strapping products and baler twines. The third pillar of the TEUFELBERGER Group is its synthetic fiber rope branch making pleasure and commercial marine ropes, high-performance industrial ropes, recreational climbing ropes, and ropes for other technical applications, harnesses and ropes for personal fall protection equipment and arboriculture as well as composite braiding components and metal-composite interconnections.
