February 25, 2013

Massachusetts -State Senator Marc R. Pacheco (D-Taunton) paid in February 2013 a trip to Austria to speak about sustainable energy and to build industry-related, economic partnerships.

Pacheco said that Massachusetts stands ready to develop business partnerships with European counterparts that ultimately would benefit the Bay State’s economy. “My message is the United States in fact is moving forward dealing with climate change, and that we (Massachusetts) are an innovative economy that invents solutions,” he said. Pacheco was invited by the Sustainable Future Campaign, described as an initiative of the United Nations Youth and Student Association of Austria with Josef Mantl as its spokesman.

His European trip included a book presentation “Communicating Sustainability: Perspectives in Politics, Economy and Society” that Pacheco is one of three co-authors, among them Josef Mantl. Senator Pacheco was also the key note speaker at Saubermacher’s EcoTalks in Graz, Austria. Saubermacher is one of the pioneers in Austria's waste disposal industry.
