Austrian products and technologies were featured again this year

According to recent estimates, the export quota of Austria’s environmental technology sector totals approximately 65%. Leading companies within the industry are particularly found in the sectors of clean technologies, solid waste and water and wastewater. All in all, the turnover earned by Austria’s companies in the sector of environmental technology is increasing by about eight percent annually.

This year's WEFTEC, which was held from October 10 to 14 in Orlando, the Austrian Trade Commission featured three Austrian companies: Murtac Mess- und Regeltechnik Analytische Chemie GmbH , mbOnline GmbH und r.tec GmbH . Throughout the convention center, there were additional Austrian companies presenting their products and innovative technologies at individual booths: MUT Maschinen-Umwelttechnik-Transportanlagen GmbH , gru Kunststofftechnik , Christ Water Technology , and Cosmic Sondermaschinenbau . MUT, a first-time participant at WEFTEC, was located adjacent to the Austrian information booth. The remaining three companies were represented by their US subsidiaries.

Participants were eager to attract customers more efficiently and to emphasize the right way of doing business in the current economic climate by fostering existing business relationships, improving customer service and simply having a presence at major industry events.

Weftec, the largest water quality event in North America, offers water and wastewater professionals a one-stop-shop for information on current regulations and research as well as various workshops and educational sessions focusing on advances in water and wastewater treatment technologies and water reuse.

With trade show attendance slightly lower than in 2008, the majority of participants and visitors alike were pleased with the high quality of the decision makers. Trends observed at this year’s show were climate change, workforce planning and succession, renewable energy, water reuse and reclamation, and microconstituents.
Next year WEFTEC 2010 will be held from October 2 to 6, 2010 in New Orleans. The Austrian Trade Commission in Chicago will once again organize an Austrian booth for Austrian companies.
