The success story of the Austrian company Komptech

The Austrian company Komptech has shown that garbage can be very lucrative: starting as a garage factory back in 1992, CEO and owner Mr. Josef Heissenberger and his partner Rudolf Pretzler have increased its sales volume from EUR 70M last year to 85M in 2007; expected sales volume for this year: over EUR 100M.

Headquartered in Frohnleiten in the Austrian province of Styria, Komptech is a leading international supplier of technology, machines, and systems for the mechanical and biological treatment of solid waste and biomass. The technology helps to reduce landfill volumes, increase recycling efficiency and transform waste into valuable raw materials and fuels. But the Austrian plant is no longer sufficient: the company now also has factories in Slovenia, Germany and Sweden

The European market leader is also already present in the U.S. with a recently established subsidiary in Denver, CO. Contact: Mr. Johannes Pohl, CEO Komptech USA Inc., j.pohl@komptech.com, T: (720) 890-9090
