HTL's techinical program offers benefits to students and companies alike

The HTL Technical School in Linz, Austria recently contacted the Austrian Trade Commission in Chicago in regards to their "Thesis Abroad Program".  This is a secondary learning institution for "high tech" education. The school offers a technical study program which is approximately five years in duration and focuses on technical fields of study which are relevant and practical for the machinery and automotive fields.

In order to complete the program, Austrian students in their last year of study (usually 18 - 19 years old) are required to complete a thesis project in English. They are expected to work together with a company in order to complete a specific project/solve a problem. The students work closely with the company along with their professors in order to complete the thesis. During this year the students are also required to complete a 6 week internship at the company in order to complete the research work for the thesis.

Generally, such an internship offers benefits to both the student and the host company.  In addition to the student gaining valuable, practical experience, the host company can also benefit from a motivated student who also has all of the knowledge, experience, and resources of the HTL School at his or her disposal.

If your company is interested in participating in the program or if you have any further questions, please contact:
