First Time for the Vienna International Congress for Environmental Technology and Renewable Energy – Head of the Federal Economic Chamber for Intelligent “Benchmark and Incentive Systems”

“ Austria is playing in the major leagues as far as environmental technology know-how is concerned. With our knowledge and creativity we can meet challenges so our children and our children’s children have a world worth living in,” said Christoph Leitl, President of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber at the opening of the first European Congress for Environmental Technology and Renewable Energy on Thursday in the Austria Center Vienna.

These challenges are basically the same throughout the world from an ecological standpoint. A big advantage for Austrian companies is the Federal Economic Chamber with its network of 108 offices which is ready to support them in getting their solutions out to the rest of the world.

Leitl advocated intelligent solutions and a comparative system in the world of climate and environment: “If someone does his thing better and emits fewer contaminants, he should be rewarded. This is a true incentive.”

About 500 participants from all of Europe as well as overseas are expected at Envietech 2008 by February 1. Envietech is the first European congress of this type to bring together experts from industry, research, development, and investment. It is hoped Envietech will be the introductory event leading to the opening of new market opportunities and promoting exports.
