August 6, 2008

Getting Ready for next year’s Conference in Vienna

As next year’s conference will take place in Vienna, the International Conference on Alzheimer’s Disease 2008 was a good opportunity for the Vienna Convention Bureau to promote the ICAD 2009. Over 5,000 participants from all over the world are expected to discuss and present the latest developments on the disease.

In order to present Vienna and disseminate information on the city, a booth with brochures and city maps of Vienna was set up. On-site, one-on-one advertising by the employees of the Austrian Trade Commission was a major part of the promotion. In addition, an Austrian lunch for all participants, visitors and exhibitors was sponsored by the Vienna Convention Bureau. The lunch was accompanied by a string quartet playing classical music.

The ICAD is the world’s largest platform for Alzheimer researchers. About 5,400 participants and exhibitors from 60 different countries were part of this year’s event in Chicago.
