U.S. Plastics Magazine "Modern Plastics Worldwide" puts the spotlight on the Plastics Cluster (KC)

The province of Upper Austria is home to more than 220 plastics processors, employing a staff of 34,000 and generating annual revenues of approximately USD 10 billion. Within the next four years, the state intends to invest more than USD 25 million for the expansion of plastics processing in the region.

Editors of "Modern Plastics Worldwide" recently visited the Plastics Cluster (Kunststoff Cluster, KC) as well as several of its members to get an idea of the deciding factors that attract plastics companies to Upper Austria

So why do these companies choose the region around Linz for their operations instead of low-labor-cost countries? Upper Austria offers the best conditions when it comes to staffing and training and also provides an ideal business climate for plastics processors. Aside from overall support during the site selection process, industry-specific events and workshops throughout the year, the Plastics Cluster (KC) assists its members with realizing joint projects of three or more KC partners in areas of R&D, new product development, process optimization, marketing and sales, etc.

For more information on the Plastics Cluster and its more than 390 member companies, please visit their website www.kunststoff-cluster.at. To read the full article in "Modern Plastics Worldwide", please click here.
