March 2, 2009

Waltraud Augesky from the U.S. Commercial Service in Vienna brought her 83 rd Austrian delegation to the U.S.
Austrian exhibitors: PALFINGER and Doka

The U.S. construction industry is one of the most effected sectors by the current economic downturn. In the long run however the prospects are bright because of the expected U.S. population growth and the need to modernize existing building structures. An Austrian company delegation visited one of the leading construction exhibitions in the world, the World of Concrete 2009 in February 2009 in Las Vegas. For Waltraud Augesky (representing the U.S. Commercial Service in Vienna) it was already the 83rd Austrian delegation she has put together and accompanied to the U.S.

Austrian Trade Commissioner Franz Roessler thanked Ms. Augesky for her important role in bringing together businesses from both sides of the Atlantic .

The Austrian products that were exhibited in Las Vegas came from PALFINGER North America and the formwork expert Doka U.S.A. PALFINGER recently announced the 100-percent takeover of Omaha Standard Inc, one of the leading producers of truck bodies and pick-up tail lifts in the U.S. With this step the PALFINGER Group made use of current market opportunities in order to strengthen its market position in North America in the long term. Doka U.S.A. offers economical formwork systems and services to the construction industry. The company, with a 130 year old tradition and 6 offices in the U.S., places strong emphasis on customer services.
