Austria's Top 10 brands: Red Bull extends its lead

The drinks giant has further increased its lead as Austria's most valuable brand. The top ten brands have a value of almost EUR 33 billion.

Worth EUR 14 billion, Red Bull is Austria’s most valuable brand by a considerable margin and is also a premier-league player in Europe and worldwide. Global sales last year amounted to 4.63 billion cans of the energy drink. This means that it is worth around EUR 10 billion more than the number 2 in Austria: the Swarovski Group, , famous across the globe for their glittering crystals.

Further down the list are Telekom Austria , the gaming group Novomatic , Raiffeisen , Casinos Austria , retail giant SPAR , the ÖBB Austrian Federal Railways , the Erste Group as well as the oil and gas group OMV . Below the line these top 10 Austrian brands are valued at almost EUR 33 billion. In terms of percentages, the fastest climbers were ÖBB, which grew by 10.1%, followed by Novomatic with 4.3% and Red Bull with 3.9%.

The study on Austrian brand value, “eurobrand Austria 2012” was conducted for the ninth time and takes the 500 companies with the strongest sales in Austria and identifies those which are at least 45% Austrian-owned. When determining brand value, other aspects such as the brand’s prestige, customer loyalty and growth opportunities on the market are considered alongside revenue.
