Three Austrian companies among Europe's top 300

12. June 2014

Three Austrian companies – OMV, voestalpine and Andritz – are among the 300 top listed companies in Europe in terms of revenue.

A study by business consultants Ernst&Young (EY), published at the end of May, names three Austrian companies as among the 300 top listed firms in Europe by revenue – oil and gas group OMV , steel company voestalpine and plant and equipment manufacturer Andritz .

In 2013 OMV took 37th place in the Europe ranking, with voestalpine 162 on the list; both companies have climbed two places. In 2012 plant and equipment manufacturer Andritz had not yet made it into the top 300, a feat achieved in 2013 when it took 283rd place.

There was no change to the top three spots, which are held by oil groups Royal Dutch Shell and BP, along with Volkswagen. Great Britain is represented by 52 companies in Europe’s top 300, followed by France (51 companies) and Germany (38 companies).
