The corporation’s recent relocation to the 50,000 square meter premises in the Jebel Ali Free Zone has only further consolidated its position in the region. The Austrian Trade Commission reports

The relocation of Doka Gulf FZE’s UAE head quarters to Jebel Ali Free Zone marks a new phase for the subsidiary of leading world class company Doka Industry GmbH and also for the UAE market in general. In the presence of dignitaries such as Her Excellency Salma Hareb, CEO, Economic Zones World, the parent company of JAFZA, Umdasch Group CEO Dr Andreas J. Ludwig, DOKA Group CEO Josef Kurzmann, Austrian Ambassador for the UAE Dr Julius Lauritsch and Austrian Trade Commissioner for the GCC Dr Wolfgang Penzias, a grand inauguration ceremony was organized to commemorate this achievement on March 29, 2011.
At the function Her Excellency Salma Hareb , CEO, Economic Zones World commented on the current promising market tenor and how Doka’s expansion plan will impact the market positively. Says she, “This success story of Doka proves to the world that despite the downturn which severely affected the market, Dubai is still a haven for investors and companies. Doka Gulf FZE can expect continued support from JAFZA in its every move.”
Peter Vogel, General Manager, Doka Gulf FZE, emphasized how UAE has proven to be a vibrant and important market for Doka. Says he, The centralization of our yard, warehouse and offices in the Jebel Ali facility will further strengthen our company’s customer service capabilities
While the Austrian Ambassador to the UAE Dr Julius Lauritsch talked about how Austrian companies such as Doka plays an important role in strengthening the economic relations between UAE and Austria, the Austrian Trade commissioner Dr Wolfgang Penzias pointed out that Doka accounts for at least 8-10 % of the turnover from the region.
Doka Gulf FZE was awarded with two congratulatory plaques- one was presented by Her Excellency Salma Hareb and the other was given by Austrian Trade commissioner Dr Wolfgang Penzias. A Flag raising and ribbon cutting ceremony was held, followed by a reception and tour of the premises for the guests.
However, the highlight of the programme was the tour of Doka’s state-of-the-art 50,000 square meter facility which houses the country management office, expansive warehouse and a service yard. The tour gave an insight into Doka’s impeccable logistical capabilities. While conducting the tour, Michael Arnold, Area Sales and Branch Manager, Doka Gulf FZE, explained that the new location contained the largest Doka formwork stock in the Middle East. He also explained that Doka engineers work with clients during all project phases to offer customized formwork solutions for purchase and/or rent. During the tour the guests were shown the Doka’s pre assembled Ready to Use system solutions, the product inspection and reconditioning services. On being queried about Doka products’ Unique Selling Proposition (USP) , Michael Arnold said, “ Our products are more expensive than our competitors. However, the quality of our products is highly superior so much so that the reuses of our products are much more which in turn reduces the overall end cost of our clients. Also, there are no additional hidden costs.” On being queried about the delivery of the products, Michael Arnold said, “We guarantee the delivery of plywood as we stringently follow the world wide Doka quality standards“
To sum up, Doka’s solid reputation in the UAE derives from a blend of global reach, local knowledge , innovation and technical excellence. A corporate member of the Austrian Business Council, Doka’s involvement in prestigious projects in the UAE such as Burj Khalifa, Capital Gate, Emirates Palance among others has only proven that this corporation is one of the driving forces behind consolidating the Austria- UAE economic relations.
