The Austrian fibre manufacturer has also forecast significant growth for 2011 and the Group is planning to invest a total of EUR 1.5 billion by 2014.

The Lenzing Group , global market leader in cellulose fibres for the textile and non-woven industries, achieved record-breaking results last year. Key success factors were extensions to fibre production, high worldwide demand for fibres and higher sales prices. Group revenue rocketed by 45% to EUR 1.77 billion. For the 2011 business year Lenzing plans to increase by production by around 10%, with turnover set to increase by up to 20%.

Lenzing managed to increase the overall production capacity to 710,000 tonnes last year. Investments totalled EUR 285 million and were used to increase the fibre capacity and energy supply at production sites as well as for the purchase of cellulose factory Biocel Paskov (Czech Republic). Investment in extensions and upgrades amounting to around EUR 1.5 billion should increase production capacity to over 1 million tonnes by the end of 2014.

With 70 years of experience in fibre production Lenzing is the only manufacturer in the world which offers all three generations of cellulose fibres – from classic viscose to modal to tencel fibres – all under one roof. In addition to the core fibre business (90%), Lenzing also operates in the plastics and engineering sectors. The Group has sites in Indonesia – home to the second largest fibre production plant – as well as in China, USA, Great Britain, Czech Republic and Germany.
