Free Market Road Show Central and Eastern Europe: 27th April to 26th May 2012

29 February 2012

"Europe at a turning point, Europe on the road to serfdom?". This is the topic of this year's series of conferences set against the backdrop of the financial and eurozone crisis, rising national debt and the threat of authorities unable to meet their payment obligations.

Today Europe is standing at a crossroads, which path leads in the right direction?
International experts will be discussing questions like this at this year’s Free Market Road Show in the course of podium discussions with participation from members of the public. The event is tailored to representatives from the worlds of business, politics and science and has the goal of presenting and discussing alternative solutions.

The Free Market Road Show embodies the spirit of the Austrian School of Economics, a school of economic thought, and promotes its realisation in the political and economic spheres: free market economies, personal responsibility and individual freedom are the basis for a prosperous society. While prioritising these values, this series of conferences aims to find sustainable solutions for the current economic and monetary crisis.

The Friedrich A. v. Hayek Institut , the Austrian Economics Center and local partner institutes are organising the Free Market Road Show for the fifth time.

The conferences will be held from 26th April to 26th May 2012 in the following cities:

Bratislava, Vienna, Kiev, Baku, Tbilisi, Istanbul, Ankara, Thessaloniki, Prishtine, Tirana, Podgorica, Dubrovnik, Sarajevo, Belgrade, Zagreb and Ljubljana.
