International patent protection made simple
Protecting intellectual property rights is one of the most important prerequisites for doing business across borders. One critical aspect here is registering rights for every market in which the company operates.
Registering patents in a foreign country is often a huge drain on resources and time. The Patent Prosecution Highway (PPH) program addresses these problems. Accords between the Austrian Patent Office and the relevant authorities in participating countries will allow every partner to share information on patent applications and speed up their processes.
The Austrian Patent Office has concluded agreements with the following countries:
- Japan
- Hungary
- Finland
- United States of America
- NEW from March 2013: China and South Korea
