Innovative products and positive international market development are keeping the Austrian fitting systems manufacturer on its path to global success.

The Blum Group has reported a record-breaking business year. The Austrian fittings manufacturer and supplier to the Austrian and international furniture industry employs 5,300 staff and managed to increase turnover by 12% to around EUR 1.2 billion in the 2010/2011 business year. This success is hardly surprising, foreign markets were a positive factor in this growth with above-average increases particularly in Eastern Europe and Asia. Exports currently account for 96%. More than half of all exports go to EU countries, 12% to the USA and 33% to other markets.

The company is in an ongoing growth phase and a significant amount of investment goes into the research and development of new products, services and locations. For example, this summer the company founded a new sales organisation in the Ukraine. Another large-scale project was started in New Zealand, where new offices and a modern warehouse will help Blum’s subsidiary provide even better services to customers. Construction work was started on a warehouse extension at Blum Poland. In the last business year investments totalled EUR 85.5 million and further investment of EUR 100 million is in the pipeline.

The Blum Group has a total of 10 production sites, of which 7 are in Austria and 1 each in Brazil, Poland and the USA, as well as 25 subsidiaries and representatives worldwide. From these sites more than 100 countries on every continent are regularly supplied.
