KTM Motorcycles are already well known in Australia, but now KTM Bicycles division forges ahead in a new direction: e-bikes.

KTM’s e-bikes are now operated by the Austrian Embassy in Canberra. Operating the e-bike, instead of using a car for short distance travel, has saved the Embassy a considerable amount of fuel in the past year. The proven benefits persuaded the Embassy to acquire another two e-bikes.

KTM began manufacturing bicycles in 1964 and started its e-bike innovation in 1994. It was worldwide the first mover in the new technology, which gave the bike manufacturing company a competitive edge. As the number one bicycle brand in Austria and highly respected throughout Europe, KTM entered the Australian market in 2011 and New Zealand in 2013. Their products range from kids to mountain bikes, and KTM manufactures up to 200,000 bicycles every year.
