Aviation hotspot Austria: Collaboration opportunities and industry event "Aviation 2017"

24 August 2017

In Austria, the research-intensive area of aviation constitutes an important economic factor and has shown a dynamic development over the last decades. Austria’s aeronautics industry offer ranges from complete planes, to high performance parts and IT systems to flight simulators for pilot training.

Austrian companies are integrated in the supply chains of all major aircraft manufacturers, but continue looking for partners and customers for their innovative products and solutions all over the world in particular also Australia. For example, you may have visited the stands of the successful Austrian companies Frequentis (communication and information systems for air traffic management), and Schiebel (Camcopter Unmanned Air System) at Avalon Airshow 2017.

To find out more about potentially interesting Austrian providers and their products for your business, we invite you to download the free publication Fresh View on Aviation Technologies , which has recently been published by Austrian Federal Economic Chamber in cooperation with the Austrian Federal Ministry for Transport, Innovation and Technology.

We would also like to draw your attention to the exciting upcoming event “Aviation 2017”, which will take place from 12 – 14 November in Linz, Austria, and will bring together companies and research institutes in the field of aviation and light construction from around the world. Please follow this link for more information.

Finally, we would like to present to you two Austrian companies, who are actively looking for distribution partners within the Australian / New Zealand market. Should you or any of your business acquaintances be interested, we would be delighted to hear from you.

ScaleWings : The company is manufacturing the sw51 Mustang – a true to scale and true to the original replica of the legendary North American P51 Mustang as (ultra)light aircraft, for sale as ready-to-fly plane or as a kit for aficionados eager to build their own plane.

Austrian Digital Research Centre Joanneum: The company has developed ADAM, a unique Airbourne Data Acquisition Module. The USP of this system is that it is very compact and can easily be transported and attached to Cessna airplanes. Its applications include the collection and analysis of 3-D data of forestry, geology, infrastructure and mining areas. The collected data can either be evaluated by the Austrian company, or they also offer training to their local distribution partner.
