ALPINE: Groundbreaking of a road construction
project in Bulgaria

Salzburg: Alpine Bau GmbH and the Bulgarian road infrastructure agency API have signed a contract for the rehabilitation of 109 kilometers state road in South-West Bulgaria. The contract value amounts to approx. 20 million Euro. The construction works shall be completed by 2013 and shall be executed by a consortium under the leadership of ALPINE. Other members of the consortium are the companies Adeva and Patni stroeji. “With this project, we will prove our competence in road construction and will continue expanding our presence on the Bulgarian market ", says Roman Esterbauer, managing director of Alpine Bau GmbH.

Road construction project
The renovation project in Bulgaria proves to be very extensive: Along with the strengthening of the existing road pavement, there is a plan for a new road drainage system and the rehabilitation of 20 bridge structures. The installation of traffic signs and placing of road markings shall be carried out in addition to the reconstruction of the power power supply network and laying of communication cable infrastructure.

On the road to success in Bulgaria
ALPINE Bau GmbH is represented with a branch in Bulgaria since 2004. In southern Bulgaria Alpine Bau has executed hydroelectrical power station Tsankov kamak with a total value of approx. 300 million Euro. The Salzburg construction group marks success in the field of environmental protection with the successful completion of Wastewater Treatment Plants in Sevlievo, Popovo and Burgas Meden Rudnik. In 2008 ALPINE was recognized for its infrastructure construction activities in Bulgaria. As part of an annual competition organized by the Bulgarian daily newspaper Pari, the concern was awarded “Construction Company of the Year” in the category “Infrastructure”.
