Prizes for Austria’s EXPO project in Shanghai keep flooding in

Austria’s pavilion wowed visitors during the expo – and now the breathtaking design and innovative “Made in Austria” technology is being showered with awards and prizes.

Around 3.3 million guests visited the red-white-red pavilion at EXPO 2010 in Shanghai, which closed its doors on 31st October after a six-month run. Austria was represented at this superlative world expo with a striking project, under the motto “Feel the Harmony”: the futuristic pavilion had a striking architectural form with white and red tones flowing seamlessly into each other, which then opened up to transport visitors into an interactive world of adventure.

The multi-media Austria pavilion did not only prove popular with the public – in October the EXPO-Austria Team was named “Best Expo Team” by the event organisers. And the euphoria surrounding the Austria pavilion is far from over: Austria’s breathtaking project is winning prize upon prize even after the end of the mega event.

Austria’s expo internet presence has won the country’s most important creative prize. The design and realisation of the virtual tour of the pavilion on won Ovos Media GmbH the Austrian advertising “Oscar”, the “Venus”, in the category “Digital Media/Microsites”. For the interior installations, Peyote Cross Design GmbH were awarded the “Austrian State Prize for Multimedia and e-Business”.
