Austria's top ten brands

Drinks firm Red Bull continues its soaring success and is named Austria's most valuable brand in a recent study - followed by Swarovski and Novomatic.

The European Brand Institute recently announced Austria’s most valuable brands. The Top 10 Austrian brand value study, “eurobrand Austria 2013” achieved a total brand value of around EUR 34.5bn – an increase of 5.3%.

The undisputed leader of the current ranking remains Red Bull , whose brand value increased by 9.7% to EUR 15.28bn. This means that the globally renowned energy drink manufacturer is not only Austria’s biggest brand, but also among the Top 20 most valuable brand companies in Europe.

The crystal empire Swarovski increased its brand value by 2.2% to EUR 3.76bn, thereby maintaining its 2nd place. Gaming company Novomatic entered the Top 3 for the first time. With a rise in value of 6% to EUR 2.42bn, Europe’s largest integrated gaming group made its first appearance on the podium. The next spots went to Telekom Austria , Casinos Austria , Raiffeisen , retail giant SPAR , Österreichischen Bundesbahnen (Austrian Federal Railways) , Erste Group and gas and oil group OMV .

The Austrian brand value study “eurobrand Austria 2013” was carried out for the tenth time, evaluating the most successful brands of Austria’s 500 largest companies which have at least 45% Austrian ownership. They were assessed based on criteria such as sector, brand strength, trend development, brand potential and revenue.
