83 Danish CASE IH customers were invited to a 2-days trip to Austria where they met with President and CEO of CASE IH Agricultural Equipment, Andreas Klauser.

83 CASE IH customers and 15 CASE IH staff left Billund on 28 of February in a specially chartered air craft to visit the CASE IH/Steyr tractor production site in St. Valentin. The great offer for the Danish customers was: buy a CASE IH tractor and visit the Austrian factory - and so many accepted this deal that CASE IH had to charter their own air craft.

On arrival in St. Valentin the group enjoyed a spectacular show with a dancing tractor. Afterwards they met with Andreas Klauser, the Austrian President and CEO of CASE IH and were impressed by the effectiveness of the production line and logistics as well as the high quality standards. Since all CASE IH markets are progressing, the factory was very busy. The Danish group was the largest one that had ever visited the factory in St. Valentin.
Besides the factory, the group also visited the Gallhuberhof museum where they learned a lot about the history of mechanization in agriculture. Afterwards they were shown a biogas plant and last but not least a traditional Austrian snaps distillery - tasting included.

Mass production of STEYR tractors was started in 1947. Since then STEYR has been the leader in this sector in Austria and has thus had an extensive influence on local agriculture. The first STEYR pick-up trailer and, as a pioneering technical achievement, the first STEYR 4-wheel drive tractor were introduced in the 1960s. The export rate of CASE IH/Steyr is today around 60%. The major foreign markets include Germany, Switzerland, Italy and the Benelux states. Furthermore, Spain, Great Britain, the Scandinavian- and the Eastern European Countries are gaining importance as new markets. A total of 21 different tractor models of the STEYR brand are currently produced in St. Valentin.

Since 2006 the St. Valentin location is the European sales- and production centre for CASE IH and STEYR tractors between 80 and 224 hp. St. Valentin is also the centre for national sales and marketing as well as product training for the German-speaking markets.
