The Orchestra consists of students of music at the Southern Denmark University, young professional musicians as well as skilled amateur musicians from the Southern Denmark region. The Orchestra is lead and conducted by the Argentinean Saul Zaks who has travelled all over the world with the Orchestra, administrates it, looks for sponsorships and arranged the participation at SCL Festival. During the four days of the SCL Festival the Orchestra gave several concerts in and around Vienna.

SCL - Summa Cum Laude - is the biggest European music festival as well as a competition for ensembles and choirs from all over the world. The competition itself takes place in one of the world’s greatest halls when it comes to sound, a venue that also happens to be among the most beautiful music halls in the world.

The SCL Festival has gained broad support of the Austrian public and of many national and international decision makers in the field of politics and culture. Close ties have also been established to foreign embassies and international organizations.
