Spectacular steel and glass constructions in Denmark

The success story of Waagner-Biro is most evident with one of the most photographed objects in Denmark.

The company was responsible for the architecturally impressive steel and glass facade of the new opera house in Copenhagen, thereby magnificently implementing and showcasing the designs of the top architect Henning Larsen. In addition, Waagner-Biro installed the complete stage equipment for this prestigious project. Whether from the inside or the outside, the Copenhagen Opera offers over 1,670 visitors an impressive sight. It has seamlessly joined the ranks of the most important opera houses in Europe.

Furthermore, Waagner-Biro showed its innovation with the construction of the new Elephant House at Copenhagen Zoo in 2009. The impressive 1,300m² elephant-friendly steel and glass construction built by Waagner-Biro was designed by the world famous architect firm Norman Foster and Partners. Another showpiece of Waagner-Biro in Copenhagen is the new "DR- Byen" concert hall for the Danish Broadcasting Corporation, Waagner-Biro provided it with a prominent facade. This was rewarded with the European steel construction prize in 2009.
