Austrian Heinzel Group invests in Estonian Pulp Project Kunda, Estonia

The construction of the EEK 2.4 bn aspen pulp plant in Kunda in Northern Estonia is going according to plans.

The project that is developed by Estonian Cell is Estonia’s second-largest foreign investment in industry.
At full capacity, the plant will produce 140,000 tons of aspen pulp a year for export to paper plants in Western Europe, Scandinavia and China.
The plant is co-owned by Heinzel Group from Austria, Larvic Cell, a Norwegian pulp and paper specialist, and EBRD. General contractor is Germany’s RWE.
It is planned that the new plant will be supplying aspen pulp to pulp plants all over Europe. In the second phase a paper plant will be built in Kunda. The whole project will cost EEK 2.4 billion.
The plant will employ 75 people.
