Excited about the opportunities for new business in Egypt, the Commercial Counsellor at the Austrian Embassy, Martin Woller said: “Austrian companies are well known for the quality products and services as well as for their flexibility in securing business success for all parties involved. As such Egypt and Austria are a perfect match. The interest from Austrian companies in exploring the opportunities in Egypt remains high and now is the time for them to work in partnership with Egyptian companies to develop the country’s economy.”

The business delegation was organized by the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber and ADVANTAGE AUSTRIA Cairo / the Austrian Commercial Office in Cairo. All across the world the expansion of environmental technologies such as emission controls, energy saving technology or the waste management industry is becoming increasingly important for sustainable development. Environmental technology and renewable energy are set to become exceptionally fast-growing industries. We expect Egypt not to be an exception.

Austria plays a leading role in environmental technology in comparison to the rest of Europe. Many companies have recognised the market and export opportunities in this field. Technologies leading to cost-effective and climate-friendly energy production are highly significant to the Austrian economy.

Austria is in second place in the EU as regards the share of the eco-industry as a percentage of GDP. The Austrian environmental technology industry is showing particularly rapid growth and at the forefront of this trend is the solar power industry. Environmental technology in Austria generates a total of about 8.2 billion euros a year.

The agricultural and forestry industries form an important, export-oriented part of the Austrian economy. The diverse foreign markets with varying needs and a demand for ever more modern and innovative technologies present an ongoing, interesting challenge for the industry. With in-depth knowledge of the markets and by accommodating the specific requests of partners, Austrian companies deliver agriculture and forestry technology such as sowing and harvesting machinery, stable and stall fittings, agricultural chemistry or forest harvesters to customers all over the world. Livestock and genetics from Austria are also in constant demand from new markets. Modern agricultural and forestry technology is characterised by innovation, guaranteeing its ability to incorporate structural changes. The use of cutting-edge technology is standard in this industry.
