Austrian wine promotion at Harrods

20. March 2012

Harrods are featuring nine Austrian wines in their Germany, Austria and Alsace Wine Promotion which runs from 26th March – 29th April and will include a tasting session at The Wine Shop in Harrods.

Celebrate the arrival of warmer days with a tasting from three of Europe's great wine regions: Germany, Austria and Alsace. Situated in the cooler climes of the continent, the wines tend to be white and if you're a fan of Riesling, this is a great tasting to compare some of the world's finest examples.

A number of Grüner-Veltliners - an Austrian speciality - from top Austrian winemakers in the Kamptal – Jurtschitsch, Gobelsburg and Laurenz V - together with celebrated Austrian wines from Stadt Krems in the Kremstal and the great Franz Hirtzberger in the Wachau will also be on taste.

Austrian Winery Leth debuts an exciting selection of wines throughout the promotion, including two international grapes: a Weissburgunder and Sauvignon Blanc to complement two indigenous grapes: a Grüner Veltliner and a Roter Veltliner.

There will also be the opportunity to sample several superb Pinots and some delicious sweet wines. A selection of over 30 wines is on offer all month, whilst the event offers a chance to taste them all and purchase with an additional 10% off on the night.

The Tasting will be held on Thursday 26th April. 7.00 – 9.00 at The Wine Shop in Harrods and tickets cost £30 per person.
