School project by EBS elk shortlisted for SECBE Awards 2013

26. April 2013

EBS elk are the UK partner of Austrian offsite manufacturing specialist Elk Fertighaus and have delivered a new school building for Oakhyrst Grange School in Caterham. The project is a finalist in the “Innovation” category of the Constructing Excellence in London and the South East Awards 2013.

The Oakhyrst Grange School in Caterham was the project that was used to demonstrate how innovative and deliverable the Elk system is. The project involved a new school building incorporating a school hall, changing rooms, lift and classrooms. Timing of the construction was vital for the school and all deadlines were achieved. Very low running costs are a big bonus for the school.

EBS Elk have also just agreed to build a new classroom block for The Priory School for Boys in nearby Banstead. The project involves the design, manufacture and assembly of a 545m2 / 5865 sq ft building comprising 8 classrooms over two floors all to be built in the summer holidays!

Priory School is an Independent Boys School which is expanding and so needed to provide more classrooms. They wanted a building that was going to be built to exacting standards, would have very low running costs and was easy to maintain as well as offering the pupils an excellent environment in which to learn and prosper.
