The building of the Austrian Embassy is one of the first Green Embassies in the world, highlighting the ingenuity of Austrian green technologies, which is also successful in a tropical environment like in Indonesia. The building combines traditional techniques, local materials and modern technology to establish a high-quality environment and sustainable architecture. The building has no conventional air conditioners and offers with 25 ° C and 60 % humidity without any unpleasant vent. The Austrian Embassy utilizes solar panels to heat the water and are used to produce electricity. Both systems together with the heat insulation and air tightness of the building have the astonishing effect to reduce the energy consumption to 17%, compared to the conventional building. Aside from heat insulation and solar panels, the Austrian Embassy also uses a technology to process rainwater that can be used for sanitary purposes and garden irrigation.
