Most liveable city

Vienna again is the city with the highest quality of living and the most important business hub of Central Europe.

For the 5th time in a row the Mercer Consulting Group has ranked Vienna 1st as the city with the highest quality of living in 2014. The study takes into account many factors like politics, the economy, climate, education, infrastructure and many more making it one of the most considered and reliable survey.

The business hub Vienna gains importance, being chosen by more than 300 international corporations as regional headquarters for Central and Eastern Europe (CEE). In particular the Austrian capital, also due to its ideal location, has established a strong reputation as a turntable to build up business contacts with Eastern and South-Eastern Europe.

The city moreover is one of the four official UN headquarter cities for more than 30 years and hosts more than 3,500 diplomats working for international organizations, making it one of the most important diplomatic hubs in the world.

In the 2014 “Innovation Cities Global Index” Vienna distinguished as the third most innovative European city globally, ahead of areas like the Silicon Valley in San Francisco Bay, as well as the “World’s most prosperous city” by UN.
